Salary: $72,800 to 93,600/year

Preferred Start Date: 9/20/2021 or earlier


About Progressive Turnout Project:

Progressive Turnout Project (PTP) is the largest voter contact organization in the country. Our mission: Get Democrats to vote. We design, test, and execute specialized voter turnout programs targeting inconsistent Democratic voters in the most competitive elections up and down the ballot. Since 2015, our trained Field staff, Fellows, and volunteers have made more than 59 million voter contact attempts across 39 states. PTP is grassroots funded, with more than 2.2 million unique donors and an average contribution of $17.39.


Position Summary:

PTP seeks applicants for our Talent Manager role. In this position, the right candidate will help PTP attract and hire a diverse, engaged and talented team to work through the 2022 election cycle.  This position can be based out of our Chicago headquarters or be remote.


The Talent Manager will be a strategic project manager able to create a sourcing and hiring strategy to meet the needs of our Field and Fellows teams, scaling the organization to up to 5,000 paid staff.  Supported by one direct report, an ATS Administrator, become an expert user of our talent technology systems, including our Applicant Tracking System and on-demand interview software, Oleeo and HireVue, and lead our organization in fully using these systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Help PTP hire all-star experts who can handle scaling our organization up to 5,000 paid staff by Fall 2022
  • Build a sourcing strategy for hiring staff through the 2022 election cycle and beyond
  • Manage our employer branding on Glassdoor, Indeed, and LinkedIn and ensure our job postings are visible and appealing
  • Directly manage our ATS Administrator, responsible for PTP’s applicant tracking system (Oleeo) and on-demand interview software (HireVue)
  • Support hiring managers where most needed in the recruiting process
  • Ensure background checks are completed and flag potential issues with the HR Director 
  • Assist with designing and implementing HireVue online, on-demand interviews
  • Train Field managers on recruiting best practices and interview skills 
  • Learn and apply our organizational values to foster a strong culture based on trust and mutual respect
  • Assess current staffing needs at PTP beyond what we have identified, and design the

Required Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):

  • You are an experienced recruiter with 2 or more years leading the recruiting function
  • You have a proven track record of supporting your organizations in achieving staffing priorities
  • You are experienced with applicant tracking systems and very comfortable with technology
  • You have experience recruiting in a fast-paced, start-up, or political environment
  • You are committed to establishing a culture of community and respect in the workplace, including the contribution of best practices and a focus on DEI
  • You act always with high integrity, professionalism, camaraderie, and low ego
  • You take a leading role in highly-pressurized situations when there is a need to resolve high-priority issues, working through the issues with grit and a solutions-oriented approach
  • You are proficient in G Suite Products (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, etc)

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  • Prior experience with Oleeo and/or HireVue
  • You are fluent in Spanish
  • You have Field work or organizing experience that has contributed to a basic knowledge across political campaigns
