Position Summary:

Progressive Turnout Project (PTP) seeks applicants for State Logistics Manager roles for the 2022 election cycle who are passionate about supporting field offices who are engaged in direct voter contact, via managing and implementing supply chains for all Field materials, office needs, and swag. The State Logistics Manager will live and work within Georgia and will be required to travel regularly to field offices within your state.

The State Logistics Manager is responsible for all aspects of logistics management and implementation within your state that allows our Field teams to operate efficiently and effectively. This will include working directly with district level staff on a daily basis, driving and monitoring distribution of supplies, ensuring goals and timelines are met on the ground, and troubleshooting miscellaneous issues as they arise. The supervisory scope of this position includes the day-to-day management of all logistics workflows; this role does not have any direct supervision of staff. The State Logistics Manager, however, will have vast responsibilities in providing and tracking the supplies and resources for all Field staff, which will be anywhere from 50-200 staff per state. 

The State Logistics Manager’s sole focus will be on the materials and physical side of this project. This position does not include the strategic design of the Field program, which has already been completed by our Data department, or real time strategic decisions, which will be directly informed by data and decided on by executive leadership. The duties of this position are subject to modification in response to program or organizational needs. 

From the initial date of hire through August 5, 2022, the State Logistics Manager will work a Monday through Friday schedule. Beginning August 6, 2022 through November 30, 2022, the State Logistics Manager’s schedule will transition to a Sunday through Thursday schedule in order to support our Field offices’ direct voter contact work.  Hours outside of core working hours, including some Saturdays, may be required.  The State Logistics Manager will report directly to the Logistics Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Learn and apply our organizational values to foster a strong culture based on trust and mutual respect

  • Drive the implementation, management, and tracking of all supply deliverables on a mission-critical timeline, ensuring timely completion of tasks in line with program objectives

  • Manage the process of procuring Field offices from start to finish, including gathering all necessary documents from Field staff, tracking utilities and internet setup, and work with the Logistics Director and Compliance for negotiating leases per office
  • Manage and implement Field office set-up and breakdown procedures in coordination with district level staff, ensuring successful execution of the Field offices within your state from start to finish

  • Manage and implement all spending guidelines and finance tracking procedures as outlined by Compliance (Amex, Amazon, etc.) 
  • Proactively identify, actively manage, and aggressively track all risks and issues that arise from the supply chain, utilizing multiple sources of data and stakeholders to resolve complex problems

  • Communicate daily with individual District Operations Directors within your state for the purpose of receiving status updates and providing guidance where needed, and communicate effectively with executive leadership

  • Understand, implement, and utilize systems for disseminating important information both within the Logistics department and out to district level staff
  • Frequently travel to PTP Field offices throughout your state  for the purpose of gaining on-the-ground insight into supply needs and providing additional guidance

Qualifications (You will be a good fit if):

  • You have 2+ years experience of logistics and supply chain work that has advanced organizations abilities to support staff

  • You are committed to establishing a culture of community and respect in the workplace, and contribute to the development of best practices

  • You have strong data analysis and problem-solving skills, and are able to accurately generate, explain, and present detailed schedules, objectives reports, and other documentation
  • You have a proven record of managing successful  programs or projects across multiple functions and locations

  • You are calm and collected in highly-pressurized situations when there is a need to resolve high priority issues, bring stakeholders together, and work through issues with grit and a solutions-oriented approach
  • You have exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills that you have used to communicate to a diverse set of audiences
  • You’re proficient in G Suite Products (Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Forms, PowerPoint, etc)

Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):

  • You are fluent in Spanish
  • You have Field work or organizing experience
  • You are proficient in Microsoft office or VAN (especially list building, turf cutting, monitoring canvass results, and managing MiniVAN users)
