Position Summary:

Progressive Turnout Project (PTP) seeks applicants for the State Relational Organizing Director role to oversee the on-the-ground efforts of the relational community mobilizer program in your assigned state. This work will be based on PTP’s successful pilot program in Virginia in 2021 (which was modeled after the groundbreaking work done by the Jon Ossoff for U.S. Senate runoff campaign).

The State Relational Organizing Director will manage staff in-state and act as the point of contact and conduit of information between HQ staff and the staff on-the-ground. This will include ensuring programmatic goals are being met in-state and being proactive in communication with HQ.

Closer to Election Day, this role will be responsible for refining a presentation and conducting multiple daily onboarding and refresher sessions for the Community Mobilizers in your state, which will include topics like Reach (or another similar tech tool) and information about voting. Ultimately, this role will play a critical part in at least 200 part-time Community Mobilizers per city being on boarded during the final weeks of the 2022 election cycle.

This role will manage up to eight Community Mobilization Organizers within your assigned state. As such, this role must have great communication skills and experience in coaching managers who are responsible for yielding measurable, metric-driven results on-the-ground.

This position will report directly to the Deputy Relational Organizing Director at HQ and will be tasked with both implementing metric-driven programming in your assigned state and reporting information between HQ and those in-state with accuracy and efficiency. This position will ideally be based within the assigned program state and some travel may be required within the state from the launch of the program through Election Day.
